The First International Conference of Eastern University on Education and Distance Learning: Opportunities and Challenges ", held during the period 8-9 March 2022. The conference reviewed the reality of distance education, opportunities in this emergency educational medium, and the challenges facing its development, in an effort to overcome it and pave the way for the future to be better through the participation of researchers from various disciplines in educational and human sciences. The conference included four main themes: psychological and educational impacts, local and international experiences, 21st century skills and educational funding opportunities. The conference attracted many local and international participants, which were distinguished and diversified to cover the conference's themes, the total number of papers received was 63, reviewed by 62 scholars and academics nominated by the Conference's organizing committee. 24 of them were accepted for publication in the Palestine Technical University Research Journal in cooperation between the Deanship of Scientific Research of Palestine Technical University - Kadoorie, Tulkarim-Palestine, and the Eastern University of the Sultanate of Oman.
