Abstract

This study aims at investigating the Obstacles to the application of blended learning in schools of post-basic education and proposed solutions in light of the Corona crisis from the point of view of teachers in the Sultanate of Oman. Using the qualitative approach, remote group interviews were conducted with focus groups of 20 male and female teachers. The results indicated that there are obstacles in four aspects, namely: technological factors and then educational and physical and then human. The most prominent obstacles were: weak internet networks, not covering some places, not everyone owning their own computers, lack of technical support when needed, some teachers not being satisfied with blended education, and not having the skills to apply it. The results also indicated that the sample members provided a set of solutions, most notably: strengthening the Internet, providing computers at subsidized prices, and spreading awareness of the importance of blended education. In light of these results, the study came out with a number of recommendations and suggestions.
