Distance education is one of the important fields in the Sultanate of Oman after the emergence of the Corona pandemic, as the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman found itself obligated to focus on distance education, of its various types, such as using digital platforms: such as the experience of the Al-Manazarah platform for grades (1-4) and the platform Classroom for grades (5-12), in addition to distance education based on broadcasting lessons on Omani TV channels, in the hope that it will be a viable alternative to expand the provision of formal education to large numbers of learners on a large and fast scale. Accordingly, this paper reviews the experience of the Ministry of Education in distance education through television-based broadcasting in light of the available capabilities, as a supportive tool that ensures that every student has an equal opportunity to learn and to expand formal education in light of the Corona pandemic, as the researcher relied mainly on information analysis which were collected from the official website of the Ministry of Education and some of the competent departments in the ministry as a research method in this paper to examine the development and challenges in the form of distance learning. The paper reached a number of important conclusions, including the possibility of the Ministry of Education and its ability to organize and plan for the use of distance education in the educational context despite the challenges, and the positive attitude of teachers, students and parents towards education based on television broadcasting. Exploiting it in a way that reflects positively on the education sector, in order to ensure the continuation of the wheel of education, whether in the time of epidemics or their aftermath.
