Abstract

The current study aimed to identify the readiness of the schools of the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman to manage crises from the point of view of the school principals themselves. The study sample consisted of (72) school principals and principals. The descriptive approach was used to suit the nature of the study. From its sincerity and stability, as the tool’s stability coefficient reached according to Cronbach’s alpha coefficient (0.865), and the questionnaire was formed in its final form in two areas: the role of planning in managing educational crises, and the role of media and communication in managing educational crises, The study found a set of crises faced by the schools of the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of the study sample. The study also indicated that there is a low level in the role of planning in crisis management from the point of view of school principals with an arithmetic average of (2.25), as the study revealed The presence of a low level in the role of the media and communication in managing educational crises in the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman from the point of view of the sample members, where the value of the general average was (2.17). The study presented some proposals that may contribute to the development of the readiness of the schools of the Ministry of Education in the Sultanate of Oman in crisis management.
