The Level of Acquisition of Twenty-first Century Skills by Students of Higher Education Institutions in the Sultanate of Oman in light of the Corona pandemic

The current study aimed to know the level of acquisition of twenty-first century skills by students of higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman in light of the Corona pandemic from their point of view during the academic year 2021-2022. And the detection of statistical differences about the degree to which the study sample estimated the level of their acquisition of these skills according to the variables: type of university, scientific specialization, and proposed measures to develop the level of students’ acquisition of twenty-first century skills in the Sultanate of Oman in light of this pandemic. The study population was represented by students of all higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman; The study sample consisted of (101) male and female students using the easy method, according to their response to the electronic form prepared using (Google Forms). Where the descriptive survey method was used by developing a questionnaire consisting of four areas They are (thinking and innovation, communication and information technology, and partnership and cooperation). It included (40) statements to collect data from the study sample and analyze it using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS). A set of results were reached, the most important of which are: that the estimates of the study sample members of the students for the level of their acquisition of twenty-first century skills in higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman, from their point of view, came at a large level. There are no statistically significant differences between the average responses of the sample members attributed to the level of acquisition by students of higher education institutions in the Sultanate of Oman of twenty-first century skills according to the variable of scientific specialization (applied sciences, humanities) and the type of university, whether governmental or private.
