Abstract

This study aimed to examine the knowledge economy level and its relationship with the training competencies of swimming coaches in Jordan from the perspective of coaches and administrators. The researchers used the descriptive method with a survey approach, as it was suitable for the nature of this study. The study sample consisted of 40 individuals, including 24 coaches and 16 administrators. To collect data, two tools were used: one to measure the level of knowledge economy in its three domains (knowledge investment, knowledge development, and knowledge creativity), and another to measure training competencies in its three domains (technical competencies, skill-based competencies, and administrative competencies). The following statistical treatments were conducted: means, standard deviations, percentages, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, and Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of the study indicated a statistically significant relationship at α ≤ 0.05 between the knowledge economy in its domains (knowledge investment, knowledge development, and knowledge creativity) and the training competencies in their domains (technical competencies, skill-based competencies, and administrative competencies) among swimming coaches from the perspective of coaches and administrators in Jordan. The researchers recommended the need to focus on employing the knowledge economy in the sports field due to its effective role in developing and enhancing the training process in swimming in Jordan, as well as supporting the level of training competencies among coaches working in swimming coaching in Jordan to achieve a competitive advantage.
