(The reality of the detention press in Israeli prisons From (1967-2023

Abstract

The study demonstrates the importance of the detention press for the Captive Movement, which is in dire need of highlighting the prisoners' issues the local and foreign media to activate the prisoners' issues in various forums.This study also highlights some shortcomings in the understanding of some leaders of the Captive Movement of the importance of the media in prisons, and it explains the importance of the media in prisons to mobilize the Palestinian street in support of the issues of the Captive Movement.Because the detention press is so important and sensitive, the Israeli Prison Authority has called for it to be pursued, destroyed and confiscated, because it leaves a positive national impact on the souls of detainees inside the occupation prisons.For this reason, the researcher advised the formation of a media committee that is responsible for activating the internal media work that carries the message of unity and strengthening the internal national ranks in the face of the administration of the Israeli Prison Service, and spreading various circulars to the prisoners. In addition,  the researcher advised activating the external media work to activate the prisoners’ issues in the local and foreign media and to mobilize the Palestinian street for solidarity, demonstration and advocacy for the various prisoners’ issues such as advocating hunger strikes, the tunnel operation and other humanitarian steps.
