A proposed conception of a training program based on the use of technological innovations for faculty members at Kadoorie University according to the ADDIE model and according to their training needs.

Abstract

The objective of the study was to identify the most important skills needed to use technological innovations at Kadoorie University for faculty members and to design a training program based on the use of technological innovations according to the ADDIE model, tailored to their training needs. To achieve the objective of the study and to address the research questions and hypotheses, the researcher developed a definition for the training program. The researcher also developed an evaluation card for the training program, which included the following components: (general framework of the training program, educational objectives of the training program, content of the training program, strategies and methods of the training program, methods of evaluating the training program). The card contained 27 items. The study population consists of all 276 teaching staff members at Kadoorie University/Major Branch, while the simple random sample included 65 faculty members. The results of the study showed the training needs of faculty members in the design of electronic curricula (adequacy of design and planning), training needs in dealing with interactive applications, training needs in designing presentations, and training needs in the use of Zoom tools. The researcher made several recommendations, the most important of which are the need to periodically survey the training needs of faculty members, to continue organizing training programs based on these needs, to collaborate with global and local universities, and finally, to recommend that the university adopt the proposed training program.
